Hello there! I'm Elan. I'm a BA English Literature and Creative Writing student with 4 years experience being published in literary journals and magazines. I'd love to tutor you and help you gain a passion for English as well as working with you to improve your work - whether that's coursework, developing your literary skills for publication in youth magazines, writing for fun and not really knowing where to start... I'm excited to work with you on anything English related that you want my assistance with!

I work with you to develop your skills in writing, analysing texts, creating your own literary texts such as short stories and poems, and ultimately developing your skills to help you pass your examinations. This is either via re-reading a passage, re-reading essays and working through them with you on how to make them even better for you, or by developing your skills by discussing how to structure an essay or persuasive argument, grammar pointers, and more.

A lot of the time people feel afraid to ask questions in a typical classroom setting - so, I encourage you to branch out and ask a lot of them, even if they are 'silly'; because sometimes it could be the thing that helps a topic click for you. The only bad question is one that isn't asked at all.

Ultimately, I want you as a student to come away from each tutoring session feeling as though you've learned and gained new knowledge that you can apply in your work, either for fun or in academia and be enthusiastic about it!
