I am a qualified social worker, who has transitioned into teaching. I have spent the last year teaching BTEC Health and Social Care, covering a range of topics including; human anatomy, workplace safety, psychology, and sociology.
I have completed 3 A-Levels in Biology, Chemistry, and Psychology. Consequently, I am now about to start a secondary school PGCE in GCSE Science. I am currently completing a Subject Knowledge Enhancement in science, improving my own knowledge. As someone who is currently also learning, I have an understanding of what it is like to be a learner. This allows me to tailor sessions so they are most useful and effective, rather than using out of date teaching methods that do not resonate with a student.
I believe teaching requires a creative approach and a genuine connection between teacher and student. I aim to understand the needs of an individual student and tailor lessons around them.
My lessons follow a fairly similar structure. This includes recalling knowledge from previous lessons at the start, teaching the lesson of the day alongside related activities, and finally a recap of lesson with homework to complete beyond. I have worked alongside a quality coach, tested this method in the classroom, and used educational theories to inform my approach of teaching. Simply put, this is results based method of tutoring and will definitely provide a noticeable difference in learning!
Please message if you are interested and I look forward to working with you and achieving the best results possible!
