I believe anyone can train themselves to think mathematically, and I aim to help individuals find the learning style that works for them. Figuring out how to make a complex problem simple and understandable, in a way that is tailored to the learner, is very fun and satisfying for me.
I believe good motivation is frequently missing from the education system; too often Maths is seen as a dry subject that involves endless memorising of formulae.
I engage enthusiastically with all levels and learning styles: Primary, Key Stage 3, GCSE (including Further Maths), A-Level (including Further Maths), Degree and Adult Learner.
I am finishing my PhD in pure maths at the London School of Geometry and Number Theory. I graduated with a first-class Master's degree from the University of Warwick.
I have been running a year 12 after school maths club at UCL for 3 years with students from various london schools. It has been very fun and recieved great feeback from students and teachers.
While at Warwick I tutored first-year undergraduate students, helping them work through difficult problems, marking their homework assignments and providing helpful, constructive feedback. I also have experience teaching all age groups and abilities as a sailing instructor.
