I undertook my CELTA diploma in 2015 at Izmir University of Economics, and I was successful in obtaining a pass at Grade A. Undoubtedly my years of working experience at factory floor level right up to board room at multinationals afforded me the experience and background to plan lessons, review content and speak confidently in class to students.
I provide English language coaching at all levels with an emphasis on tailoring lessons to individual requirements. Thus, the needs of businesspeople are commonly addressed through focus on speaking, listening and pronunciation lessons to improve their communication skills. The academic needs of school children struggling with English at school are addressed by helping them focus on what they need to do to pass exams or move up to High School. I work with students from primary school, through middle school into high school, focusing on all levels from basic grammar through to exam techniques, as required by the individual student.
I coach students planning to study and live abroad by preparing them for exams such as TOEFL and IELTS with a specific emphasis on the strategies and tips they require to master to succeed in their chosen exam. As a teacher trainer I work on a freelance basis with the Professional Development team at Oxford University Press to bring my years of business and board room experience into schools and universities to help teachers and lecturers across Turkey develop their presentation and teaching skills. In areas such as Productive and Receptive Skills, Pronunciation, CLIL, how to encourage thinking and more, I assist and help teachers develop their skill set by providing the tools they need to create the best environment to meet their teaching challenges.
