Lessons will cover whatever topics the student would like extra support with however I can also cover an entire syllabus lesson by lesson if required. Some optional work to do outside of lessons will be provided to help students consolidate what was learned in the lessons. I believe that an informal approach, making students feel comfortable with their learning environment is most effective. I strive to create a friendly and calm atmosphere to facilitate optimal learning for the student. Content will be taught using whichever GCSE/A-Level exam board the student is studying. I will provide interactive lessons either in person or online as well as flashcards I create for the student to take away and learn from if they like. I use the Anki platform to create my flashcards as well as study for my exams in medical school and it is a great tool for chunking and memorising large quantities of information. Lessons will include visual aids such as charts, diagrams or drawings, easy-to-follow simplified explanations and always some questions at the end to test how well the student has grasped the concept covered. These questions are informal and should not be taken as an important test. I give explanations of tricky concepts through the use of real-life examples or comparisons as I believe something is most easily learnt by being able to link it to other current knowledge. Furthermore, the content covered in the lessons will be presented in note forms on a textbook as well as the use of a PowerPoint from time to time.
