Edmund Hutchings

I am a highly experienced, qualified native English teacher from London. I have been giving regular, online one-to-one classes to students since 2019. I hold a BA Hons degree from the University of Sheffield.

I have spent a large part of my career working in fields like project management, sales, marketing and business operations. Consequently, I am an ideal tutor for those specifically seeking to gain confidence in and really improve their knowledge and understanding of business English.

I would describe myself as an experienced, patient and positive tutor. I always ensure that my lessons are engaging and enjoyable. One of my key aims is to encourage students to speak and express themselves as much as they possibly can during the lessons. I am aware of the crucial importance of praising students and providing them with a positive, constructive feedback during each lesson.

I have helped numerous students successfully prepare for job interviews, IELTS exams, important presentations and conferences. Furthermore, I have assisted many students with their pronunciation skills and improving their accent, intonation and rhythm of speech in English.

As an avid language learner myself, I am aware of just how challenging making tangible progress in foreign languages can be. I can therefore truly empathise with my students. I am currently learning Mandarin, French, Spanish and Portuguese in my spare time, which I find very challenging. This has certainly made me a more patient teacher.
