I like to get to know my students, what they are interested in things, and how they think they should best be taught. The aim is to make contact with the individual student in each case. In the case, of 121 this will be the basis of how I teach. In other cases, it will influence to more generalised way I teach the Group. The end-result however, is to get the individual and class talking in general everyday situations they are going to find themselves. Examples of these would be at the airport, immigration control, passport control, the bank, the doctor, the car hire company, the estate agent, the rental agent, the hotel reception desk to name a few. I aim for each student to be able to express themselves confidently in these situations by the end of the course. Not only this but I hope they will be far more enthusiastic about their english, and about continuing with their efforts to learn further, pick up idiomatic words, expressions and phrases, and to filter out irrelevant confusing material which making it harder for them to speak and learn english. This is the hope. In other words, I want their investment of time and money to be very much worthit for them, so that english ceases to be a skill listed on their CV but an actual usuable skill to ease their life in order for them to progress their own interests and projects to their advantage in their lives .
