I always like to find out what my students know about a topic and will use a test, teach, test approach. This enables me to see what help the student needs and it allows for them to actively participate and then practice from what they have learned. I plan my lessons ahead of time and start with short activities that will employ visual, auditory, and kinaesthetic learning styles. It is important to understand what styles work for which groups of students and how to use an effective style.
Understanding each students background and the reason for learning the language sets a path for me and for the student to achieve this goal. The aims and outcomes become clearer and must be met. Using task-based techniques help drive conversations for the students participating and their vocabulary also grows. My lessons then adapt tot he needs and interests of my students. The lessons are not meant to be too long as I try to avoid a lack of interest or concerntration and students become more confident in their conduct of the language
