I have 18+ years experience of performing in the fields of Classical, Jazz and Pop, working with artists such as the Philharmonia Orchestra Brass Ensemble, Eric Idle and Rag 'n' Bone Man. I have performed at Glastonbury Festival, the Brit Awards, Tottenham Hotspurs Football Ground and New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.
My approach to teaching is student led. I want every student, from absolute beginners to more advanced players, to feel comfortable in their learning. I have used Graded methods by the ABRSM, taught lessons completely by ear with no focus on exams, and everything in between!
Areas I like to focus on in lessons include instrumental technique, jazz improvisation, working on specific pieces, transcribing music, playing by ear and many more.
I have taught privately for 16 years, and held teaching positions at Camden Music Service, Wandsworth Music and Millfield School. I am experienced in teaching all brass instruments to a high level, from absolute beginners to Music College students.
I also have an in depth, specialist knowledge about brass instruments, from which brands to purchase, which instruments to upgrade to, which mutes to buy, where to get instruments serviced and repaired and a great deal of knowledge about mouthpieces.
