I am Dr Charles Dusse (PhD in Linguistics and an Honours degree in English) I specialise in preparing students for GCSE (Scottish Nat 5), A levels (Scottish Highers and Advanced Highers) and IELTS examinations. The key aspects targeted are reading skills and writing skills as well as vocabulary enrichment and expansion. Where necessary I also focus on improving sentence construction and writing styles to increase maximum impact in the examinations.

Besides academic specialisation I also offer conversational and communicative English for academic and business purposes to assist professionals in communications more effectively in their fields of specialisation, for example, law, politics, business, medicine, media, psychology and education.

I have been tutoring young adults and teenagers for more than 25 years to excel in their examinations and increase their ability to improve their skills in reading and writing in particular. I make use of exemplars as well as thoughtful PowerPoint presentations to make the work both understandable and accessible to all levels of learners. I facilitate both students who struggle with key aspects of the curriculum as we'll as hone the skills of those aiming for a better mark.

I am based in Edinburgh Scotland but work on Zoom which means I am available early mornings and late nights as well.. The sessions generally lasts 40 minute a session. The costs are £25 per lesson and payment are usually done through PayPal for convenience.
