Dumsile Joyce Maduna

I am Dumsile Maduna a teacher by profession .l have taught Primary school children for many years as well as taught High school learners for a number of years .At present am teaching at Tertiary .My teaching area is English Language. I tailor my teaching methods to meet the specific needs and interest of the learners.l also understand that my teaching should be learner centered rather than teacher centered.Collaborative learning ,group discussions is my daily routine when working with learners .l am also capable to design learning experiences that are relevant ,practical and applicable to their lives.ln addition, l believe in encouraging learners to become active learners through participating during the lesson and also become reflective learners for every lesson they are engaged in.
I always encourage learners to have their diarys where they reflect on what they have learnt .Also to have short and long goals for their studies so that they have a good focus for their learning.l also encourage the learners to know their strengths,weaknesses.opportunities and threats so that they can define their psychometric testing,analyse their job description and specification as well as analyse their transferable skills
I also encourage them to draw their own personal development plan which will help them set goals which are ; SMART(Specific,Measurable,Attainable.Realistic and Time bound)
