As an experienced and skilled online business tutor, I engage my students asynchronously and synchronously. I will upload the learning material on the virtual learning environment (VLE) for students' access in their own free time. These will be in the form of textual reading material, audio and pre-recorded videos. Students will also be given links that will direct them to relevant learning material on the web to broaden their understanding of the topic(s) under study. From time to time, tutor-led live lectures over Zoom will be held to allow students direct and live interaction with the tutor and seek clarification on issues they may not have fully grasped from the learning material. Students will also be given formative assignments periodically, especially after every topic just to help assess the students' comprehension of that particular topic. I will then give feedback promptly, within the week after the submission deadline so that students know how well they are doing in good time. Email and/or the VLE messaging system shall be used for communication between the students and myself as the tutor. Given the advent of social media, these platforms, especially WhatsApp, shall also be used for communication. To encourage more student-to-student engagement, group work shall be assigned and VLE Forum discussions will be engaged as students comment on each other's posts. Students shall be granted an opportunity to give both formative and summative feedback on the lessons through polls and/or surveys for quality and continuous improvement purposes.
