As an online tutor, my primary goal will be to foster a learning environment that is inclusive, engaging, and conducive to the intellectual and personal growth of all students. I believe that teaching is not just about the transfer of knowledge but about inspiring a lifelong love of learning and critical thinking. I prioritise a student-centred approach, where active participation and experiential learning are at the forefront. I design my courses to include fieldwork, laboratory experiments, and real-world problem-solving activities. I employ diverse teaching methods to cater to different learning styles, ensuring that each student has the opportunity to succeed. This hands-on approach allows students to directly engage with the material, fostering a deeper understanding and retention of concepts. I encourage students to think critically about the complexities of environmental problems and to consider multiple perspectives when seeking solutions. I design my lessons to include problem-solving tasks, discussions, and projects that require students to apply concepts in real-world scenarios. This approach not only helps students understand the material more deeply but also develops their critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
