From the onset of my educational development, I was a keen observer of my instructors, attempting to compare their different attitudes and strategies. I have therefore evaluated and garnered a catalog of different techniques which aided my understanding of core subjects. To effectively teach Chemistry related courses, each student must be taught to develop critical thinking which will aid their application of theoretical framework to study, explain, and predict Chemical behavior. The imagery and words used in explaining different phenomena must be clearly presented into a practical scenario. This does not mean, however, that one should equate clarity with simplicity; to the contrary, simplistic explanations often raise more questions and create more misunderstandings than organized lectures that carefully present the subtleties, nuances, and complexities of most concepts.
Thus, the clarity manifests itself in teaching and this is done by directing the selection of the most effective methods of teaching the various concepts covered in courses to the diverse range of students in the class. Finally, most of the Chemistry related courses are fundamentally problem-based disciplines that require students learn how to use various concepts to solve problems. Thus, a simple but valuable teaching instrument is by allowing class-time for students to work on problems related to the material just presented. And this is why research comes into place and this allows students apply what they have just learned and provides immediate feedback as to how successful the presentation was. With this information, I am of the opinion that the integration of both teaching and research will be of immense benefits for this position.
In relation to the advertised position, I strongly believe my multi-disciplinary academic training has adequately prepared me to be an effective tutor. My experience rightly fit into the teaching. I can assure you that you will never regret employing me.
