I have had the great pleasure of being a technician for Dr Viccary at a private school, as he taught chemistry, physics and biology to many students with a wide range of abilities and enthusiasm /interest for science and he won over and inspired many. He not only inspired the students, he inspired me daily. His love of all 'things' Science is contagious. He is an Amazing Teacher, with a broad knowledge, which he eagerly shares. He has demonstrated great patience and is fully invested in the development of, the knowledge of subject gained by the student, the confidence to question and think about the subject matter they are learning about and gauge accurately the level of ability of a student while utilising their strengths. A Great Educator. Some of his students have come back to teach science, some became pilots, worked in the forces and some in medical practices. Dr Viccary was my science teacher for my GCSE’s and I also went on to study some Theology with him after school too. I always found his teaching engaging and I enjoyed how he encouraged us to learn for ourselves. He was patient and kind and made learning fun and interactive.
