I like to start with an overview of the topic and show how the physics and mathematics can be seen in everyday life - this helps add context to the subject and helps the student understand the importance of it. I also like to incorporate online tools, past paper questions, and some background history around scientific discovery to supplement the standard course materials. I like to focus on developing problem-solving skills as I believe the ability to break down a problem and identify methods to solve each facet of it, is key to performing well in exams. However, I understand that the needs of each student can vary and good communication is required to find the best teaching methods.
These methods of teaching are some which I've found incredibly useful throughout my education and scientific career. My teaching experience throughout my PhD allowed me to develop my skills in responding to the needs of individual students and adapting my teaching style to ensure the best experience for the student.
