I have over 10 years of experience in teaching economics, mathematics and statistics. My teaching methodology centres on two key strategies. First, my engagement with students follow a full working plan so that the whole curriculum is covered within the time constraint. Second, I employ a blend of integrative an problem-based pedagogical approaches in my teaching. I believe that relating concepts with experiences significantly enhances students’ learning experience. It is particularly important while teaching economics as a subject in which abstract modelling and the use of mathematics and statistics carry a risk of losing students’ interest. Therefore, through my lectures, supplementing contents with intuitive explanations, I make sure that students can relate concepts with experiences. This, I believe, enable students to develop a more deeper and robust understanding of contents. I make efforts to help students in employing economic concepts to solve real-life problems (problem-based approach). I also provide students with supplementary notes in support of learning from the main textbooks. Overall, I understand that students have diverse learning needs and I always follow a customize approach in engaging with students.
