I have experience working with a wide range age of students. I have worked especially with Year 11s getting ready for their GCSEs, helping them work through exam questions and working on exam technique. I have also worked with younger children getting ready for SATs and worked informally with children between the ages of 11-15.

I have experience working with a wide range age of students. I have worked especially with Year 11s getting ready for their GCSEs, helping them work through exam questions and working on exam technique. I have also worked with younger children getting ready for SATs and worked informally with children between the ages of 11-15.
I prefer to use questions to help my student work through concepts but can easily adapt for the student. I also prefer to teach online as it is usually more convenient for both me and the student. If a new concept needs to be taught, I tend to explain it, then practise, then explain the next part to ensure that the student does not only just understand the topic but then can apply it successfully as I believe learning things slowly and ensuring the basics are sorted before moving on is most effective. I prefer a more active teaching style where the student participates and interacts, rather than just receiving the information. My ideal lesson is fun and enjoyable for the student, whilst still learning effectively.
I also offer help with UCAS. I have recently completed the university application process so I can help with personal statement writing, any extra examination preparation for Oxbridge or other exams and advice on choosing a university.
The first lesson will be talking through what the student needs (i.e. help with exams, homework etc), deciding timings and any time left over will be used to start helping the student.
