I am a qualified English teacher with 26 years teaching experience across the age groups of primary, secondary and degree level.
I have a degree in English, a PGCE and masters degree.
I am currently teaching English to students aged from 12 to 16 including GCSE preparation. I utilise a very interactive and kinesthetic style of teaching that has led to a very good success rate for GCSE, 11 plus and SATs. I was also an associate lecturer for the Open University teaching English Language and received 100% positive feedback for the distance learning course I tutored.
During lockdown I provided online learning for the classes I taught providing comprehensive and interactive learning for my students from across the secondary phase.
I have experience with students with special needs having been a Special Needs co-ordinator
and I am used to differentiating learning for higher or lower academic requirements.
I have tutored students one to one in English and maths at both primary and secondary level, face to face, for catch up and extension work and would be happy to provide this locally as well as online tutoring.
As a past Headteacher I have excellent organisational and communication skills which I use for assessment and feedback on progress and development.
