I have been teaching English as a second language for 27 years since gaining my TEFL certificate and have taught both adults and young learners, from false beginners to proficiency. My teaching style is very friendly and communicative, and I am conscious that learners have different learning styles, so I will always try to incorporate activities to motivate you using a variety of resources including news articles, videos, podcasts and interactive games to aid comprehension and retention of the language . My main objective is to create an open, communicative and supportive class, where you feel safe, motivated and confident.
As my classes are now on line, I will send you the material before the class starts with a few tasks to complete. For example, I might send a news article for you to read and be ready to summarise it or a video clip to watch. For those of you who want to, I may also use a course book to help give structure to the course. Generally speaking, my teaching style depends on your needs.
