I began tutoring in 2020 in the 2nd year of my bachelor's degree in Medicinal Chemistry. I began taking Leaving Certificate students for lessons and then branched out into university students studying chemistry. I specialise in Organic Chemistry but have an excellent understanding of all disciplines of chemistry (Inorganic, Organic, Physical and Analytical Chemistry). I typically meet students in-person (or online) for a two hour session once a week (weekday evenings or weekends) and in our first lesson we make a plan of what topics need to be covered and which topics the student finds difficult. We then begin with fundamental chemistry concepts such as chemical bonding and electronic configurations as a starting point since I believe having a strong grasp on the fundamental concepts in chemistry being paramount before beginning more complex topics. I typically will have some notes made out for the student before every lesson and at the end of a lesson will give the student a set of problems to complete prior to the next lesson.
