I achieved A stars in GCSE Math, Further Math, and A Level Math, and I am currently in my third year of studying for a BSc in Financial Mathematics at UCD Dublin. My lessons are designed to address what I wish I had been taught for my school exams. They primarily focus on exam techniques through a combination of exam-style and conditioned questions, as well as the relevant theory to solidify my students' foundational knowledge. My goal is to cover all aspects of the relevant exam board specification and provide personal tips and tricks on handling different problems and questions. This approach aims to build my pupils' confidence to tackle any question they encounter.
I have experience working at summer camps in the USA with boys of GCSE/A Level age, which has made me adept at teaching and connecting with young adults. This, combined with my quantitative skills, creates a recipe for low exam stress and high grades. By offering a structured yet flexible learning environment, I aim to ensure that my students are well-prepared, confident, and capable of achieving excellent results in their exams.
My teaching method involves breaking down complex topics into manageable chunks, using a step-by-step approach to solve problems. I emphasize understanding the underlying concepts before moving on to more advanced topics. Regular practice through past papers and mock exams will help students become familiar with the exam format and improve their time management skills. Additionally, I encourage students to ask questions and engage in discussions to deepen their understanding and retention of the material. My ultimate goal is to make learning enjoyable and rewarding, fostering a positive attitude towards mathematics and helping students achieve their full potential.
