Dear Students of English,

I am a qualified TEFL English mother tongue teacher of the English language from Cambridge, England.

My greatest interest and emphasis is to teach you the English language by focusing you on the practice of the key skills of Pronunciation, Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing and the techniques needed to be to really improve your English language proficiencies.

I am dynamic, enthusiastic, and creative in my teaching style with that special ‘X Factor’ fun element of inspirational learning where I will encourage you to seriously improve your English language fluency. I have been teaching English for 30 years and I aim to help you improve your English speaking and listening skills. I can also help you with your exam preparations: Cambridge ESOL PET, First Certificate, Cambridge CAE, and the IELTS exams. I teach English to whatever your needs and requirements may be.

I also teach ESP ~ English for Specific Purposes such as English for business, finance, marketing, and sales by using the very latest news from the world of business, commerce, and management. I used to work in business finance. I use all manner of media web-based resources such as content from the BBC of video and radio programs which I adapt in lessons. I design my lessons by using contemporary news stories, tv, and radio documentary programs to help you to understand authentic sounds by listening to English ~ “Real English in the real life.”

And of course, we will always be revising the grammar and writing skills. I like to use specific reading techniques to help you recognize phonetic sound patterns and intonation in order to help you build up speed and fluency in speaking. I am very keen on teaching you how to improve your pronunciation skills and I believe I can truly help you develop your confidence in speaking English fluently.

I love the English language, literature, international cultures, The Arts, and music. But I also like to incorporate subjects that interest you, be it business, finance, contemporary media, social and cultural history, or sciences. I am a great conversationalist who loves to talk, ( just because this allows you to be exposed to the language) as well as listen to you talk about, by incorporating most topics of interesting contemporary knowledge.
In my lessons, I like to use my own contextual ESL teaching materials as well as the use of contemporary materials from the BBC media and The British Council to give you a variety of English resources.

But I also love to utilize resources that relate to British historical and cultural traditions from the Monarchy to The Arts, media, film, theatre, literature, drama and music, podcasts, and much more! So from 'Harry Potter and 'Mr. Bean' to 'James Bond' at the London Olympics, and from the lyrics of ‘The Beatles’ to ‘Coldplay’, ‘Ed Sheeran’ and ‘Adele’ I incorporate all these resources that Great Britain is famous for and will interest you I'm sure!

I will also teach you English pronunciation skills using phonetics and games as well as music and songs to encourage active learning and really develop your listening and speaking skills.

I have developed a mantra for all my students young and not so young and it is this:

"I must speak English as much as possible, try to think in English and Not translate".
