My lessons are mainly tailored to the needs of the students. I like to be very thorough and take a look at the entire syllabus that the student will cover to understand which areas require most of my help. I want the student to know that my purpose is to help them with whatever issues they are facing and that they are in charge of the session. I firmly believe that homework is not helpful and that practice is a more beneficial use of time when not in class. I think that practicing for any upcoming assessments using my practice assessments and then reviewing the topics where the student struggles is the most efficient way of preparing the student for an exam.
I also firmly believe in getting the student engaged in the subject matter to learn the subject properly. Especially for the sciences, it is essential that the student finds the subject fun and engaging, as that is how I found success in my chemistry and physics classes. As an engineering student, I know the importance of applying science and how that contributes to understanding the subject.
I am very sociable and good at communication. As a member of the TEDx leadership team for the past five years, doing so has helped my public speaking. This helps me in tutoring because, as I mentioned, communicating with the students is a key part of my mentoring technique. At the end of the day, my job is to make the students happy and successful, and I love helping the students achieve their dreams.
