Clarinet Lessons:
My lesson aims to increase students interest in playing the clarinet. Rather than teaching seriously, I hope to provide happiness and joy in my lesson. Not only do students could learn their instruments in an excitement, but also build a good relationship between me and the students.
Also, I would also teach students some fundamental skills and solidate the basics in playing the clarinet. Scales will be practiced during the lesson. I believe training scales could help students to improve very quickly.
As to make students feel the happiness in my lesson, different self-selected songs are also played. What I mean is many of my previous students love playing music from famous artists or Movie shows. For example, Star Wars theme songs. I will guide and teach my students to play these songs, so students will be able to perform their favorite songs in front of the crowd when they successfully learned them.
Of course, some students would like to take part in some musical examinations, such as the ABRSM graded exams. I am going to teach them the songs and scales they have to learn, but I will also teach them skills and telling them big tips of participating exams. By telling them my previous experience in taking part in exams, I believe students are able to learn much more than normal lessons.
Here are my previous experiences:
Trinity College ATCL recital Clarinet — Distinction
ABRSM Grade 8 Clarinet — Merit
University of Warwick Wind Orchestra
Hong Kong Youth Wind Philharmonia
Raimondi College Wind Orchestra Concertmaster
Sociology Lessons:
As I am currently doing BA Sociology in University of Warwick, I could help students who do not understand certain concepts and topics. Students who are taking Sociology for A-Levels Exams are able to sort out all difficult questions.
Chinese Lessons:
I am a teacher ethnically from Hong Kong, and have lived in Hong Kong for more than 10 years. Therefore, I am fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin. It is fabulous for whoever wants to start a new language. I also got Grade 5/5 in AP Exams and Level 4 in HKDSE Chinese. Slangs and different native dialects will be taught as well just to make the lesson be more fun.
