I've been teaching for 4 years, soon after O completed my grade 8 in piano and music theory from TCL. I'm a registered music educator with TCL. I encourage all students to learn music theory alongside the instrument they choose to learn as this helps them to read and write music notations. I believe that if they have the skill to do so, efficiently, they require less guidance and support from a tutor. My job is to make my students independent in learning so, at any given point of time if someone were to give them a random sheet of music or asked them to improvise on the spot, they would be confident enough to do so.
