My planning and teaching is based very much on the needs of the student. My teaching experience has been entirely with children with limited life experiences and challenging family situations. Therefore, I have had to adapt my teaching and use practical activities as much as possible.
As part of a senior leadership team, I have trained many staff in the teaching of phonics, early reading skills and the discrete teaching of new vocabulary.
I am passionate about grammatically accurate written English and would like to tutor students studying English as a foreign language.
I have also mentored and quality assured PGCE students, providing both academic and emotional support.
