Hi, my name is Lan Yang, you can also call me Diane, I’m now a teaching assistant in a local independent school in Edinburgh, Scotland. I have completed my master’s degree in interpreting between Chinese and English at BLCU which is a renowned one in China. I have nurtured my talent and interest in languages since a very young age and am further motivated by the sense of mission as an envoy between two languages and cultures. So I invested significant efforts to make myself capable of interpreting, translating, and teaching. I have served as TA and instructor in several institutions such as EF, New Channel, dealing with students of different ages and cultural backgrounds. It has opened new doors of cultural literacy and understanding, and I’ve gained super useful experience about how to teach and interact with people. I have also taught students online during the pandemic, helping them to review their lessons for college entrance exam and IELTS. For those who don’t know English at all, I could help to build their interest and foundation since language is also my passion. I enjoy teaching not only because I like the sense of achievement after seeing my students’ progress, but also because I can learn something from my students, no matter if it’s their hardworking attitude or their passion for languages. They always motivate me to do better and provide more enriched knowledge to share with them. Therefore, I am really looking forward to meeting more young English and Chinese learners here and communicating with you!
