I have been teaching ESOL for decades in Europe, China 1 year and the Middle East. Now in the UK online. I have adult learners for general and business English. My hobbies are swimming, outdoor activities and watching movies.
I'd love to help you with your goals be it using my own materials, textbooks, past exam papers for IELTS for example or online newspaper articles corresponding to our grammar focus or topical collocations.
I have worked face to face with learners for decades, be it with French companies staff on a yearly basis, or Middle Eastern university courses for academic English throughout the students undergraduate and post graduate education, as well as ESP, such as medical, financial or legal English. With regard to general English I was assigned for several years to "reading and writing" classes, while my colleagues focused on the listening and speaking part. Every year all teachers were part of the examining panel for speaking finals and all of us corrected final papers - besides the CBT exams.
When my children were young I also trained primary school teachers, organised children's after school English activities in France.
On two occasions I taught ESL at European high schools, which had English as a second language, tested at Proficiency level through the Cambridge exam in grade 12. In one of these schools co-teaching in their native as well as in English all subjects ensured students were really bilingual.
Nowadays I help mainly professionals through online tuition, many in IT, who want to improve their fluency - for the most part struggling with verb tenses, using only 3 main ones to start off with. We work either from a school platform or daily newspaper articles, which provide current American and British expressions. This enables learners to understand how they could improve their own communications in their spare time by exploring their personal hobbies, such as movies, YouTube videos, audiobooks as well as analysing language used in their professional interactions on a daily basis.
