Lessons are based off of the child’s individual needs. If there is a particular component the the subject we will focus on that whilst still making sure that all other aspects of the subject is still up to par.
I like to incorporate creative activities into studying so that it is easier for you as the student to remember and use in school or whenever you need it.
Most of the techniques used are based on the psychology of young people in school, using real world examples for mathematical equations and relaying back to the basics.
Lessons range from assisting with homework to studying advanced techniques that will give the students and advantage on their classmates. This allow students to become more comfortable and confident in their skill set and knowledge; which is a crucial part of learning and studying.
I also offer group sessions for those who have multiple children that they want to be tutored. As well as my experience working with SEN students, that started from within my own background it is important that all students no matter their ability are able to get a fair chance of learning with a high level of respect.
In my experienced opinion doing an academic activity is the same as any other creative or sports activity and for this reason my sessions begin with a warm up for the mind and body (I also feel this allows my students to feel more comfortable with me as a tutor) the second part of the session and main body incorporates any homework help and/or specific subject support. The final part of the session consist of a recap and celebratory cool down (this allows students to be proud of themselves and their work, leading to a student feeling more excited and willing to continue their work).
