I live to learn, and get even more out of helping others to learn. Assisting people to overcome obstacles or finding a genuine interest in the topic are self-rewarding ways to keep both myself and my mentee engaged and looking forward to the sessions.

I have tutored in GCSE maths, A Level Religious Studies, and Grammar School entry exams.
I have also volunteered as a teaching assistant for secondary school maths lessons, as well as running sports sessions through school and other registered organisations.

I'm great at listening and observing, which helps me to be a great communicator. I have a wide experience across different job sectors: retail, construction and IT support. I have also volunteered at charity stores, within my religious community and with children's support groups (Solihull Carers).

Skills I have been praised for by previous mentees and parents are: patience, understanding and finding alternative or creative means of explanation when necessary.

Example introduction lesson (maths): I like to take the student through simple questions at different speeds, to see what mistakes they make when they need more time to think. These types of mistakes will probably occur throughout all topics, so addressing them immediately is essential. Other mental blocks, such as awkward numbers like 7, can unnecessarily stump the student, so I like to get these problems out of the way as soon as possible.
