I've got a year's worth of experience with tutoring fellow classmates or students younger than me most of whom have left me references that I'm willing to provideif needed, I prefer to go step by step insuring the student really understands the technique so they can apply it to different questions, and then I give them practice questions to ensure that they would be able to apply the knowledge whilst making sure to help them with any misunderstandings along the way. The content of my classes will be specific to each students specific needs so in the first tutoring session I like to go over the specification of the chosen subject and let the student tell me which topics they find difficult themselves which I mark down as areas of attention then we go for the rest of the session we go over the topics the student did not point out as areas of concern to make sure that they really do understand these topics and aren't just saying they do as a way to not do it where in if there are areas of major weakness I mark them down as need attention whilst addressing minor weaknesses as we go along after the first session has ended I create a study plan for the student as a means to make sure they cover all topics before a upcoming test or end of the school year. I prefer to ensure that the student is also comfortable with me as their tutor so I also like to spend the first few minutes of the first session asking about their lifestyle and friends to get them relaxed and comfortable with me as so they can feel alright sharing the problems they have with the subject with me.
