My first lesson will consist of giving an assessment paper to find out what level the student is currently working at and then go over the questions together, this will provide me with a good idea of where the student is at.
Then I’ll make sure to ask both the parents and the child what they feel they need improvement on, finally I’ll use the assessments and what the parents tell me to prepare for future lessons
