I have been teaching traditional black & white / digital photography for a number of years at local college / university
I don’t assume what you should know so to start off we would have an informal chat to find out a bit about the student / class and what they have done regarding photography and the kind of photography that they would like to do.
I would find out the level of the student / class and explain to them what the function are on a camera and how to use the iso, aperture and shutter speed to get the right exposure. If their having
problems with blurring for example explain to them why that is and show them what they can do to prevent that happening we will also have a look at depth of field and how to use the apertures to gain the right depth of field within a photo.
Once the student / class is comfortable with the functions of the camera and lens we would have a look at setting the student / class a project
1, Landscape
2, Movement
3, Portraits
4, Still Life
5, Macro Photography.
It would be nice if students had a digital SLR camera in order to understand the individual functions of a Digital SLR camera
Spring is one of my favourite time of year as nature brings life back to the landscape, farms / countryside and the local wild life.
To be able to go for walks in the woods / countryside and take shot of various plants and wild life is so amazing to see the transformation throughout the seasons. Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter.
Don’t forget you must always dress and wear the correct footwear accordingly and prepare for each season / shoot with health and safety in mind.
