Basically, I prefer to use the the one-on-one tutoring method, which involves working with one student at at time, allowing a great deal of interaction, and total focus of attention and energy to go towards the the specific academic needs of my student. However, this can only be done after a proper assessment has been carried out to ascertain the level of the student's proficiency, weaknesses, learning pace and any other areas that may be lacking including any learning disabilities.
I also employ other communicative methods including languages manifesting in real-life situations by thoroughly encourage thought driven conversations that encourages the student to make reference to circumstances from their daily life experiences to help them communicate back in English language some of which could also be experiential and might involve a bit of practical activities, encouraging conversation, role-playing and games (for younger students) to help them associate learning with a bit of fun.
tutoring in groups can also be inculcated into learning activities which involves tutoring more than one student at a time, or group of say 4 to 5 students at the same time. This can benefit the students by encouraging group participation and great atmosphere for healthy learning interaction using the technology at my disposal so that as a tutor I can offer one-on-one or group tutoring session online. Using this method, I can indeed offer a bit more flexibility to accommodate larger groups of students while managing time and reaching set learning objectives from the comfort of my home anywhere in the world.
