I usually focus on assessing the level of the student first, then I prepare a few grammar/conjugation material, whether it is focusing on grammar tenses (future verbs, subjectif, conditional), but also the relative pronouns, for example.

I do enjoy working via books and to discuss character development - we would also be working on the prononciation, and evolving through the stories.
As my own English teacher in Belgium was working with us through studying the lyrics of the songs as well, I enjoy working with music and propose both new (Pop) and older French music.
Most of the time, I help the students improve the conversational level by working on articles (Le Monde, L'Écho, le Soir, l'Avenir...), or we would be working on a book.
