Reflecting on my own teaching experiences I have worked at a range of schools in London, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire. From outstanding schools to schools that required improvement, I have taken something from each school and added it to my teacher toolkit. I have also been fortunate enough to work in schools of faith, multi-cultural schools and village schools. It has been an immensely valuable teaching experience that has certainly shaped my professional outlook and provided me with a rich insight into what you can achieve with children. My enthusiasm for the teaching still remains positive and my teaching journey has put me in a position where I wish to make a meaningful difference to children’s lives.
In all schools I have worked in, my lessons have been judged 'outstanding' or 'good'.
I encourage children to become independent learners while providing them with safe and nurturing environment to do so. I understand the concepts and principles of progression, and I know how to use assessment judgements to forward plan. I am able to give children constructive feedback and ensure they are always making accelerated progress. I have always had high expectations of my own teaching and children outcomes.
I am very positive with children, focusing on their strengths rather than their weaknesses. I believe positive praise from the teacher can be a catalyst for change for the individual.
I firmly believe that parental involvement is a key factor in a child’s learning and I am keen to develop positive relationships with parents.
