I like to build upon my students’ prior knowledge and develop their vocabulary and understanding depending on their interests and needs for learning a new language. This also applies to complete beginners.
I tell jokes, use idioms, sing songs, use facial expressions, recount stories as well as focus on helpful grammar and relevant vocabulary in my lessons. I’m very experienced and can adapt my lessons, where necessary.
I am a patient and compassionate teacher. My own experiences of learning languages help me tremendously with teaching languages. I believe it is important to give time for students to process their learning and give space for questions to confirm or extend the new material. Finally, I hope my students have some fun in lessons. Learning can be thrilling and exciting.
