I have over a decades experience as a secondary school KS4/KS5 ALevel and Business teacher. I have taught in Kent, Spalding, Eltham and Fakenham, as well as online.

Before the first lesson I like to form a plan for the first two lessons. Before the main content I like a quiz to highlight misconceptions or previous learning. This can then lead on to develop understanding or bridge gaps in learning. Students complete exam type questions and we go through mark schemes. Depending on the content, students/adult learners complete practical tasks, and are also guided to write important notes down to support their continued learning.

Learning styles and learning difficulties are discussed to ensure the lesson is tailored to students too.

Various softwares, tools and topics are covered using a variety of teaching methods. I ask metacognitive questions to provoke how students think.

Adult topics covered include Photoshop, AWS cloud practitioner, Azure, data management, databases, spreadsheets and word documents.

Student topics range from programming, algorithms and multimedia design, to publishing software, VR/AR and auto-cad.
