I have taught for 12 years and tutored for a further 3 years. My experience has included 11 years in SEN specialist settings, where I taught History to GCSE and A-Level, working with students with ASD, anxiety, ADHD and dyslexia. I benefitted from having lots of training in the specialist schools I worked in regarding these conditions, and am sensitive to the needs that students may have and the barriers they may experience to their learning.

In lessons, I start with a skills and knowledge assessment, according to the curriculum the student in following, and then pinpoint areas to tackle with them. I will usually have both a knowledge and skills focus in each session, beginning with checking any gaps in knowledge and addressing these, and then working on some examination style questions on that particular topic. Whilst my lessons are professional and results focussed, I also like to use humour where appropriate. I find history so fascinating and love to pass that on to my students!
