Debbie Menendez

I was raised speaking Spanish as my native language. However, since I began my school life as a toddler, I went to a fully bilingual Spanish-English school. As I grew older learning English at the same time as Spanish, I became comfortable with the language enough to fully switch Enlish to my first language. My first jobs as a teenager involved in interpreting for my Spanish-speaking community. Since 2011, I have been employed in a law firm in which 95% of clients are Spanish-speakers. I have used my skills as a mom of a teenager and a toddler to relate and accomodate lessons accorning to age and undestanding. I have a Bachelor's Degree in English, and I have tapped into my own student perspective to accommodate student's needs. I strive to conduct my lessons with patience, courtesy, and professionalism. I want my students to feel comfortable to be themselves and relay any question to me. I also strive to help my students as much as possible, in order to fully understand the Spanish language. It is the reason why Spanish is known for being on the top of the most widely known "Romance Languages".
