Whether you want to learn the piano through graded exams, prepare for performances, or explore music with a less structured approach, I'm here to help find what works for you. With years of experience teaching both children and adults, from complete beginners to grade 6 (and happy to teach up to Grade 8), I always tailor my lessons to the interests, goals and learning styles of my students.
Alongside piano, I teach music theory (for grades or otherwise), music history, improvisation and composition, should these areas interest you. I teach a broad range of genres, from classical to pop, and always take time to do extra research to find pieces and approaches that will best suit my students. I particularly enjoy a creative approach to playing, and encourage my students to think about the ways in which music can be expressive, alongside helping them to develop good technique.
I understand that life can sometimes be unpredictable, so I can be flexible with the frequency and times of lessons. I'm also happy to keep in contact between lessons to answer any questions that come up during practice.
Above all, I aim to provide a relaxed, creative environment where curiosity and experimentation are always welcome!

About me

As a piano teacher, I enjoy helping a broad range of students to explore music in a way that best suits them. I am extremely passionate about music, and love to share this with my students, whether you’re a beginner looking to build a solid foundation or an advanced student aiming to refine your skills.
I began learning the piano over a decade ago, and quickly fell in love with music, going on to complete my grade 8 in piano with distinction and become a piano student at the Birmingham Junior Conservatoire. I went on to study music at King's College, Cambridge, graduating with a starred first. During my time at Cambridge, I continued to teach students both online and in person, and enjoyed gaining experience as a choir accompanist. I am currently pursuing my master's in composition at the Royal Academy of Music, with the support of the Vaughan Williams Foundation.
