I am an experienced chemist with over 5 years teaching experience of GCSE through to A-level at Monmouth Schools, I have taught pupils of all abilities and levels of understanding, including second language pupils. I am now a full-time tutor with extensive experience tutoring over a hundred pupils of varied academic backgrounds.

Bamboozled by bonding? Fried by electrochemistry? Cursed by skeletal formulae? Whether you are a high-flying pupil that wants to make sure you get that A* or someone who feels chemistry is just something you desperately need to pass so you can move on to other things you enjoy, I have the resources and experience to help you get what you need.

I have taught foundation and higher, double and triple award GCSE, IGCSE, A-level, IB and provide coaching for challenges such as the Chemistry Olympiad. Perhaps you are looking for a few booster sessions before an exam? I don’t require block booking. Or perhaps you need a longer-term arrangement? I can provide discounts for 10+ sessions.

I like to run discussion-based lessons where we both talk through the topics. My work is focused as much as possible on understanding, not rote learning. We will talk through why answers are correct, and what the implications are. This will help you to combine this information into the other topics you know, creating more links between these different areas and helping you to recall the information in your exams.

I must stress however, and this is very important, it is simply my preference to teach in this style. My goal is to provide lessons that work for you! So whatever you need these sessions to be, I can accommodate you.

He was extremely professional and communicated clearly. I really think he helped my daughter achieve a better grade in her GCSEs. She even came out of one of her sessions saying she understood why she was learning chemistry now! He was on time to all of his lessons and helped her with her schoolwork and homework which she was really struggling with at the time. If she had wanted to do A-level i would have stuck with him! He offered to set and mark homework as well for no extra charge but we declined because she had enough on her plate.
