The focus of my roles over 30 years of my professional career has been helping people to learn, whether that is through in-house training and development activities, managing adult learners through complex studies (e.g. MBA) and through examination and assessment processes.
I studied and completed an MBA myself through the Open University Business School, and then became a part-time lecturer on the Foundation Programme for the same qualification, managing and supporting groups of students over a number of years. This has helped me to ensure that the various learning interventions I have designed and delivered have a robust basis grounded in business and management models. I also utilise a range of learning activities to work with different individual learning styles.
So expect a range of activities from reflection, examples, case studies, input on key business models and topics, recommended reading, and short work-based assignments. We can use Teams or Zoom or similar. I may ask you to do a little prep, then our sessions would include content, discussion and some activities to work through and get feedback on.
I also work with two large universities in their examination process, keeping me in touch with the needs of student learners. I am now also an Internal Auditor for some local councils, a role which again balances robust business practices with feedback and development.
I am based in northern England but operate virtually across all time zones as required.
My passion is simply to help people to learn new skills and knowledge.
