I have had a good amount of experience in my life which I believe has given me a good foundation for teaching professionally. Over a number of summers during my teenage years, I was employed as an assistant at a performing arts summer camp where I gained experience working with primary school aged children and helping them see the true enjoyment in music and art. More recently, during my third year at university, I worked numerous hours as a teaching assistant in a class for first year sound technology students. My work involved helping the students setup a professional recording environment and giving them the opportunity to practice recording bass guitar and guitar. I was always willing to answer any of their questions and would explain concepts to them thoroughly, which is the approach I'll take with any student.
My lessons are structured around your personal goals as a musician, allowing us to plan your steps towards them. No matter what your level is as a musician, I will strive to help you reach the next level using an approach that will keep you enthusiastic and hungry to do more. Each lesson will begin with a recap of what we did last week or (if we're meeting for the first time) a chat about where you want to progress to. I'll do my very best to create a lesson plan suited to your goals and skillset that has emphasis on you enjoying music first and foremost.
