I have experience teaching during my time at university, specifically in the computing and statistics. Currently, I am studying MSc Bioinformatics and theoretical systems biology at Imperial College London; which has a strong focus on mathematics!
I would start my topic by introducing the key concept and background information. I would then slowly work through methods on how to solve the set questions in the way that examiner do for the specific exam board. I will teach the student how to present their result, and how to tackle more difficult problems that aim for the higher grades. I will set little worksheet to be completed and we will go through any problems found on these problem sheets at the start of the next class. I believe that to achieve high grades in maths you need to practice a lot of problems with variation in how they are asked and presented. This way you will be fully prepared to tackle any problem and achieve fantastic results!
Thanks,
David
