In the first lesson we will look at some worksheets or exam papers together so that I can assess the student's level and the areas that need concentration and focus. Following that I will create a study plan, to be agreed with the student or the student's parent as appropriate, and we will work through a set of agreed topics using relevant worksheets and examination papers in the right combination to prepare for whatever the ultimate goal is.
I am very patient and once I have explained the methods and techniques needed I always encourage the student to find their own solutions under my guidance. This is the most effective way to ensure that the learning we are doing can be applied to a wider range of problems and questions than just the ones we are looking at.
