I am currently working as a Lecturer in Politics at Bournemouth University, while in the second year of my PhD. I lecture on a unit called ‘History of Political Thought’, where I have been given total control of all lectures and seminars for the second half of the unit. I have enjoyed the experience and thrived under the pressure of delivering so much content by myself. I also run two seminars a week for another unit titled ‘Political Sociology’. Moreover, I also lecture a unit in International Relations for postgraduate students.
Previously, I taught second-year students at Durham University, on a unit titled ‘Crime, Power and Inequalities’, on the Criminology undergraduate course. Despite never having studied Criminology myself; after an interview the university was confident that I could teach to the standard required and that my sociological education would be a benefit to the students.
Durham University is often ranked as the number one university for Criminology in the UK, so it was a great honour to teach on the course. The official feedback I received from the students survey was overwhelmingly positive.
I look forward to teaching you and helping you achieve your goals!
