I am an energetic tutor who consistently models what is required of the high achieving student.

I can teach English, Media Studies, Religious Education and Drama to GCSE. I have also taught students preparing for the 11+ with great success.

My subjects although broad ranging, have all been successfully taught in secondary schools with outstanding results. I have a Master of Science Degree in Information Systems, have been to Drama School and ran a Performing Arts department at a secondary school. I have a degree in Philosophy from the University of Liverpool and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education in Religious Studies from the University of Lancaster. I have worked as a dishwasher, an actor, a teacher, a computer programmer, web developer and eLearning project manager.

I have also lived in a tree!

My enthusiasm for my subjects are immediately apparent to anyone who logs into my lessons. Sessions are well planned, but I do not seek to slavishly adhere to that plan if I spot a new opportunity for learning, or that students are responding well to a specific line of learning. Each time I witness a light bulb moment or a student stepping beyond the bounds of what they think they are capable of the completion of an outstanding piece of work that makes students proud, my commitment to this profession is further underlined.

I will push my students but this is done sensitively and thoughtfully throughout sessions with the aim of developing confidence, skills and knowledge.

It is a privilege to be a teacher and a tutor and I cannot see myself in any other job. I do my best for all my students.
