I am passionate and enthusiastic about the teaching of English to young people and adults.
I have 24 years' experience of teaching AS, A level and GCSE English Language, English Literature and English Language & Literature. I also have 20 years' experience of being an examiner and coursework moderator for both GCSE English Language and A level English Language and A level English Language & Literature. I have privately tutored several GCSE English Language and GCSE English Literature students over the years with grades and 9 being achieved.

I can offer remote zoom or Teams tutoring sessions or one-to-one tutoring as appropriate. My lessons are varied and meet the specific needs and areas for development on the full range of A level English Language topics (language frameworks, analysis of spoken and written texts; child language acquisition; language change; etc). I have taught a full range of GCSE and A level English texts ranging from Shakespeare's Macbeth, Antony and Cleopatra, Twelfth Night, Othello, etc), Brontes' Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights, Stoker's Dracula, just to name a few of the many texts taught. Past papers are used including the provision of exemplars, mark schemes and I will regularly mark and give feedback to my students to help their personal development.
